About Us
Our aim is simple. We want to get as many people as possible engaging with literature.
We continue to get part of the way there with our massively successful free Kindle book site – Free Book Feed – but of course, not everyone has a Kindle (not yet anyway!). So we set up AudioLiterate as a way of reaching as large an audience as possible through audiobooks.
All of the audiobooks on AudioLiterate are available for free, with the majority of them being public domain works that have been lovingly read and recorded by a range of volunteers. Thanks has to be given to sites like LibriVox and Archive.org who’ve made this possible through allowing the syndication of their content. AudioLiterate aims to push this content to a wider audience in a way that is more accessible and will appeal to new users. In case you’re looking for more contemporary titles, we also include our editor’s pick of the best and latest audiobook material on the market. These are also available free if you follow the links then quickly and easily grab a free trial with Audible. It’s as simple as connecting with your Amazon account.Â
New free audiobooks are getting added to our archive every day, so if you want to keep up with them we encourage you to join our Facebook page and sign up to our daily email newsletter by using the form to the right.
AudioLiterate has been designed to make it as easy as possible to find great audiobook titles. The homepage features an advanced search module which allows you to filter by author and genre and price – either Free (public domain) or Free (with a free trial). You can also just search directly there by entering keywords of your choice. On the homepage you will find our editor’s pick of featured free titles as well as a summary of genres and latest listings. If you want to look at all of the genres at once, we have a separate tab accessible from the site menu or here.
Thanks for engaging with the site, we hope you enjoy listening and please spread the good news!
Please note:
- All of the audiobook images on this site have been aggregated and matched to the books. If anyone finds an image they think they own and don’t want us to use, please let us know by using the contact page and we’ll remove it right away
- All of the free public domain titles have no rights reserved and can therefore be shared and freely distributed
